Athey Wagon

The Athey Wagon is designed to support a large-scale H2S blowout with all capping activities done while the well is burning. The unit was initially confirmed to have a hoisting capacity of 55,000 pounds. Included in the design is a water discharge system that provides quenching water streams through the length of the boom and at the working tip for high radiant heat conditions. The unit comes with a chimney yoke, hoisting attachments, a debris hook and an abrasive water cutter mounting attachment.

Monitor Shacks

The Monitor Shack is an essential tool for supporting hot zone activities and firefighting efforts. Capstone has two of these units pre-fabricated. They are each designed to accommodate 2.5” Akron Apollo monitors (included in both the Tool Truck and Tool Sea-Container inventories). Having these units pre-fabricated enables hot zone activities to commence as soon as possible without waiting for on-site fabrication.

Tool Sea-Container

The Tool Sea-Container is equipped with an inventory of tools and equipment which are commonplace to blowout recovery activities
Inventory includes specialty thermal cutting equipment, hoisting, and rigging equipment, supplemental firefighting appliances and an inventory of personal protective equipment. The container is skid mounted to allow bed loading and quick deployment.

Tool Truck

The Tool Truck is equipped with an inventory of tools and equipment which are commonplace to blowout recovery activities.
Inventory includes specialty thermal cutting equipment, hoisting, and rigging equipment, supplemental firefighting appliances and an inventory of personal protective equipment.

Stinger Assembly

The Stinger Assembly is packaged for quick deployment. It includes a small tool bin with an inventory of steel to support mounting the assembly to the bucket of an excavator (not seen in the image above). The excavator operator can manipulate the stinger tip into a flowing orifice to restrict flow and facilitate a well kill operation.

Dry Chemical Units

The 3000# Dry Chemical Unit is specifically designed for extinguishing a burning well. It is skid mounted and configured such that a bulldozer can transport it into position. It has the option of discharging Purple-K through a 3” turret-mounted nozzle at approximately 100 pounds per second or through two handlines at about 6 pounds per second.

The unit has the option of discharging Purple-K through a 3” turret-mounted nozzle at approximately 100 pounds per second or through two handlines at about 6 pounds per second.

High-Volume Suction Manifold and Hose Skid

The High-Volume Suction Manifold is designed to connect 60 m3 (400 bbl) water tanks to a mid-ship fire apparatus; maximizing the rated pumping capacity and providing a large volume of water to support prolonged activities. The unit is typically connected to six 60 m3 (400 bbl) tanks. It is complete with all suction fittings and tools required for assembly.

Heli-Portable Sea-Can Fire Apparatus

The unit has the capacity to mitigate fire hazards to personnel by means of providing safe egress, as well as control and extinguishing of hydrocarbon fires. The unit requires an external water source and is ideal for remote areas accessible only by air.
